What happened in September

Summer is drawing to a close in Zurich and temperatures at the VETRI headquarters are nearing human bearable levels again. We’re happy to share with you a few insights about what has been going on on the top floor of Bahnhofstrasse 3 over the past month.
Our designer together with our developers has been hard at work preparing for the launch of our new website. You can check it out here. Make sure to let us know what you think via Telegram or Twitter.
In terms of the VETRI application, we have developed first data plugins that allow the wallet to obtain the data either via the official APIs, or via the takeout ZIP archives, and store them directly on the data owner’s device. The development team also delivered  a smart contract layer API that is going to be integrated into the data wallet and data consumer’s web interface. This month, we furthermore deployed a marketplace data request service prototype. Now, we are hard at work preparing the legal documents – Privacy Policy and Terms of Service – that are needed for testing the applications with prospective partners.
In September, we also received great news from our co-working space, Trust Square. With 3000 m2 we are now part of the world’s biggest blockchain hub. At the same time, two illustrious new tenants are joining us in the building: NEO and Circle. We are proud to have been part of the Trust Square journey since the very beginning and are committed to contribute our part to the growing Blockchain ecosystem here in Zurich.

Events

RUZ Introduction to blockchain for entrepreneurs

We were happy to contribute our knowledge to a blockchain introductory workshop for entrepreneurs and SMEs at the various Raiffeisen Centers for Entrepreneurs (RUZ) across Switzerland. Together with blockchain entrepreneurs Toni Caradonna, Oliver Rückgauer and Jakob Gulunay, VETRI community manager Dominique Kunz held workshops at the centers in Bern, Aarau, Zug and St. Gallen.  We thank the Raiffeisen Bank Group for their trust and their continued effort to make blockchain technology accessible to a larger audience.

Trust Square Open Day

Over 300 people took the opportunity to visit Trust Square and its tenants during the official Open Day on September 20. Procivis and VETRI were present with three booths showcasing eID+, eVoting and the VETRI marketplace, where visitors earned “chocolate tokens” for sharing their Email address with us.

Ethfinex Governance Summit

We are proud to be contributing to this year’s Ethfinex Governance Summit in Lugano on September 29. Business Development Manager Adithya Pradeep Kumar spoke on the potential of decentralization as a driver of inclusion. You can re-watch his speech via the Ethfinex Youtube channel (at 2:56h).

Upcoming in October

As was suggested by members of our community, we are considering to add an additional subpage to our new website with a visualization of the roadmap in order to make it easy for anyone to follow the progress of the project.
For the next 4 weeks, we will also be intensively preparing for our participation in the Web Summit from November 5-8 in Lisbon. For this purpose, we are working on a prototype of both the VETRI wallet and the marketplace.  We are planning to show you the results in a demo video mid-November.
