VETRI is a not-for-profit, peer-to-peer platform governed by the VETRI Foundation. VETRI allows users to earn money from their opinions and data. Companies on the other hand get access to valuable insights with the individual's explicit consent. A win-win situation. VETRI was launched in July 2019, so we are still at the very beginning of our journey. Bare with us as we improve the app and unlock new features for you.
VLDs are the reward points within the VETRI app that you receive for completing surveys and sharing data. Think of them like loyalty points or airline miles. You can exchange your VLDs for gift cards of your favorite store in the rewards section of the app. For more information about the technical properties of VLD, see the Blockchain/ Cryptocurrency section.
You have to provide your invite code when prompted on the screen "What's your invite code?". Note that your invite code is NOT your PIN.
Your data is stored locally encrypted on your phone. Neither VETRI nor any third party ever have access to your data without you actively sharing it.
Control means responsibility. Neither VETRI nor anyone else has access to your PIN. Therefore, it is not possible to recover your PIN if you forget it.
When you delete the app, all the data in your data vault will be deleted with it. No one will be able to recover your data after you deleted your app or lost your phone. You will also lose access to the VLD you earned by completing surveys. You can only recover your VLD points if you have previously exported and saved your pass phrase.
To secure the data inside the app, make a backup on another device, the same way you do it with all your other mobile device data such as pictures. To secure access to your VLD, be sure to export your seed phrase and store it in a safe place. You can find more info on how to deal with your seed phrase below.
Your pass phrase is a unique combination of 12 words that represent a secure key to your account. Write them down and keep them in a secure place. Should you for some reason lose access to your VETRI app or delete it, the pass phrase is the only way you can recover the VLD points you have earned. Be aware that the pass phrase will only help you to recover your tokens and not the data you imported into your app. For more information on the technical properties of the pass phrase, see the Blockchain/ Cryptocurrency section.
You can access your seed phrase in the settings section of the VETRI Wallet. If you lost access to your Wallet and have no backup of your seed phrase, the VLD points you earned will be lost.
Go to the rewards section in the app. Select the gift card of your choice and the gift card code will be displayed to you immediately upon payment inside the app.
If you deleted your VETRI app, lost your phone or simply want to switch to a new device, you will be able to transfer your earned VLDs into your new app. Download the app and select "I already have an account". In the next step you will be able to upload your pass phrase. If you do not have your pass phrase, there is no way to recover your account.
Cryptocurrencies are a new form of digital assets. The best known examples are Bitcoin and Ethereum, which serve as a form of digital money. VLD is a cryptocurrency which serves as the native form of payment on the VETRI marketplace.
No, in- and outgoing transactions with VLD are currently not enabled.
