Eva Kaili, Member of the European Parliament (MEP) and member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy has joined the VETRI Advisory Board.
As the chair of the European Parliament’s Science and Technology Options Assessment body (STOA), Eva Kaili is at the forefront of the discussion about innovations related to the administration, which often revolve around decentralization and blockchain technology. She takes a firm stand supporting civil liberties and she advocates for a strong implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which will give control over personal data back to the individuals. Therefore, her experience in seizing the opportunities that technologies offer to modern societies as well as detailed knowledge about civil rights will be invaluable for the build-up of VETRI.
Eva Kaili says: “Political discussion must go hand in hand with practical solutions. Therefore, we must seek ways to use new technologies with the goal to empower people and facilitate the transition to a modern society.”
Daniel Gasteiger, Procivis co-founder and CEO, said: “Welcoming MEP Eva Kaili to our Board of Advisors marks a milestone for VETRI. I am deeply impressed by her efforts to put emerging technologies, particularly blockchain, on the agenda of the European Parliament. Her involvement inspires us to create a trusted standard solution that will facilitate individual ownership of personal data globally.”
