Daniel Gasteiger, CEO of Procivis AG was hosted by Startup Grind, Hong Kong for the first of two events. Startup Grind is a global start-up community powered by Google for Entrepreneurs. Danny’s visit also featured meetings with blockchain funds from China and Hong Kong.
The Startup Grind event was moderated by Ali Bullock, Founder & Social Curator of The Secret Gin Club. The discussion started with a recollection of Danny’s decision to leave behind his corporate career to venture into the world of blockchain. Following an inspiring visit to Estonia — The World’s Most Digital Society, Danny founded Procivis AG with the vision of making this digital reality accessible to a broader community. VETRI marks the next step in Procivis’ vision — delivering self-sovereign digital identity to a global community. With privacy emerging as an increasingly elusive ideal in the digital realm, there is a pressing need for a decentralised and self-sovereign digital identity solution.
Inspired by the discussions, Danny said after the event, “The roadshow has revealed that there is a growing consciousness about privacy and the value of data globally. Privacy is a fundamental human right and it is not sustainable for the existing order to persist. We are currently at an inflexion point and the transition to a privacy friendly future is well and truly underway.”
