Organized in the ski-resort town of St Moritz, Crypto Finance Conference 2018 brought together cryptocurrency and blockchain actors from across the ecosystem including start-ups, private and institutional crypto investors, crypto investment funds, consultants, auditors and academics. Spanning 3 days, the event offered attendees expert education, investment and networking opportunities.
Procivis AG was represented at the conference by CFO, Yves-Alain Petitjean and Senior Advisor, Grégoire Notz. The company was encouraged by growing maturity of the blockchain ecosystem marked not only by the inspiring array of valuable use cases under development but also by the proactive stance taken by the Swiss Federal Councillor, Johann N. Schneider- Ammann on establishing a strong regulatory ecosystem to support the growth of blockchain and cryptocurrencies in Switzerland. He laid out his vision for the future of blockchain in the country stating that in 10 years, we will no longer be talking about the Crypto Valley but rather about the Crypto Nation of Switzerland.
The presentation on ICO best practices proved particularly relevant for Procivis AG in light of the upcoming VETRI initial token offering (ITO). With the VETRI ITO, Procivis AG seeks to set a precedent by complying to the highest standards of regulation and consequently contribute to the legitimisation of ICOs, which the company believes is a powerful tool to finance value creating innovations. PwC Legal’s presentation highlighted digital identity to be among the biggest uncaptured opportunities presented by blockchain. Speaking at the end of the event, Yves said, “The emergence of a strong blockchain ecosystem along with immense opportunity presented by digital identities strengthens our belief that we are strongly positioned to build the foundations of a just and fair digital economy.”
